Got a call from a guy wanting to sell 2 pairs of speakers. Long story short.....Klipsch Chorus II and Polk 11T for $200.00 for both pairs. Klipsch are mint and the Polks are 8/10. Never heard either so in the coming weeks I will get my listen on. All drivers, tweeters are 100% but only tested quickly to make sure they are fully functional. Looking forward to trying out the Klipsch on a tube amp.
To bad I still have no power from the storm or I would be rockin' these tomorrow.

The Chorus II is a very nice loudspeaker - superior in refinement to the wild 'n' wooly Klipsch Heritage models (with the possible exception of the K-horn); "great for tube amps". :-)
The Polk 11t I don't know. Willing to believe it's good, though. -

There is no such thing as an 11T, the OP probably means RTA 11T's, circa early 90's.Home:

So.....do people who want to spell nice speakers dream up your name and phone number out of thin air? Is there some Inception technology at work here? Or are you the owner of some hi fi shop?Do you hear that buzzing noise? -
Nice Score!

Wow just WOW!!! -
The Polk speakers are the RTA 11T as mentioned above. I only listened to them for a few after work hooked up to a Yamaha receiver and sat radio (which is at work). Most of the stations on there suck for sound quality but for the few channels that are ok, the speakers performed well. Reminded me of when I had monitor 10b's. Those Klipsch make the Polks look small though. Not in height but overall dimensions. I have to correct one of my earlier statements though, the Klipsch are mint except for missing one name badge. Other than that they are like new.
BTW, just got power back like an hour ago and the Polk forums are the first place I visit. Go figure. The first thing that was turned on was the tube amp and cd player so they could warm up. Out of all the music possibilities I have to choose from to listen to first I throw on some Stevie Ray Vaughn. AHHHHHH, sweet tunes to listen to while I straighten up 6 days of mess from no power. Life is good!!:biggrin:Everything matters. That is all.

I will. I'll have to bring them back to my house one set at a time. Neither speaker is very heavy, just big, so I may try to get all 4 in the car. The Klipsch in the back and the Polks in the back and front seat laying down.Everything matters. That is all.

Here are a couple of pics of the speakers. These are not very good but you get the idea. When I get them home I will take a few more pics so you can see them more clearly. There is a piece of cardboard on top of the Polks due to a pair of Signet speakers sitting on them. Did not want to scratch the tops of the Polks.

It's raining speakers here where I live. Picked up a complete Klipsch surround set in great condition today. Two F3 front speakers,C3 center channel,2 S3 surrounds and a Sub-12 subwoofer all for $120.00. That's all the guy wanted. He even had all the boxes minus the foam in the F3 boxes. Not the best offering from Klipsch by any means but not bad for what I paid. It will never make it into my HT setup but this will make someone happy when I do decide to sell them.
Still have not brought home the other speakers yet. Hopefully in the next week I may have a chance to audition at least one set.Everything matters. That is all.

Today I picked up a NHT HT system. 2 Super two,2 super one, super center for under $175.00. I wonder what the next few days will bring. I did get a call about a pair of The Philharmonic 1 speakers today so I will check them out and see.
The guy who called is looking for $900.00 so I need to do a little research first. Anyone here ever heard them;Any good?Everything matters. That is all.

I never picked up the Philharmonic speakers cause they had water damage the guy was trying to conceal. He was a complete tool anyway. I did pick up a pair of MB Quart 650S this morning. I have been listening to these for a little while and they remind me of ADS speakers to an extent. Not as polite and laid back as ADS but still has that sound you can listen to for hours and hours without fatigue. There is not that much info. on these speakers as they seem to be quite rare. Anyone here ever try MB Quart speakers...older ones, not the new stuff. Older is better when it comes to these. Just like ADS.Everything matters. That is all.

I hope you didn't pay a lot for those, I've seen them go for about $200/pair.Home:

All speakers I picked up are now gone (Klipsch are still around but are not to my liking so they are in limbo right now till I find out what to do with them). Was fun listening to them while they were around. Today I picked up a Paradigm CC690 center channel. I've been on the prowl for one that sounds good with my B&W HT setup. I do not like the way the B&W center channel looked or sounded for the most part so I passed on picking one up. The Paradigm on the other hand blends very well for sound. Only watched parts of the new Transformers movie this evening and about an hour of Black Ops. So far so good. This looks and sounds like a keeper to me.Everything matters. That is all.

Those MB Quart speakers I did not pay alot for. I actually traded them for my Thorens TD-160 tt. I got the better deal for sure but the guy who traded with me goes through even more gear than me. Sometimes I get the better deal with him and sometimes he gets the better deal. No worries here though imo, in this hobby you have to pay to play and that's something I accepted a long time ago.Everything matters. That is all.

Where do you live? Maybe a fellow Polkie would like a shot at those Choruses....Just a thought.
I'm not quite in your stratosphere of great bargains but I am doing well down here for now. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

I am in Richmond Va. Between thrift stores, flea markets,my work, and personal contacts I go through TONS of gear. Most of the gear is on the inexpensive side but I do go though some stuff I could not afford on my own as much as I go through. Right now I am listening to a Pioneer RT-701 reel to reel that we recorded some Steve Miller Band to. Pretty cool to have even though I will not buy it. This piece will not go to someone who does not know about it. I would rather not sell it than to sell it to some moron that wants it cause it looks cool or reminds them of yesteryear. Only to someone in the know.Everything matters. That is all.
