I have win7 on the pc, and had Outlook as part of the 2010 office suite, but MS is telling me I have to pay to continue using it.
I checked and found that I'm supposed to have an app that replaces it, but, I don't?
Soooo...is there another type of app that works like this?
Thanks

Outlook Express is no longer a part of Windows. Windows Mail is the replacement.

If you had the full-blown Outlook client as part of Office 2010, it should still be there, and work just fine with Windows 7.
    Ludicrous gibs!

I have Office Student edition, so it was just a trial:frown:

You have always had to pay to use the full MS Outlook which is part of the Office Suite. Outlook Express was previously bundled with Windows, but they discontinued that with Windows 7. The replacement is Windows Live Mail which actually works pretty good.

Another alternative which I like and use daily is Mozilla Thunderbird. Thunderbird doesn't have a native calendar though, but you can 'add-on' the Lightning calendar which works very nicely and can sync with Google Calendar (and my Android phone calendar!).
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Open Office should do the trick. You can buy it or download it(MS OFfice), with no problems.

I did a more extensive search and found Window Live mail, downloaded, and I'm all set.
    Thanks for the feedback folks:smile:

FWIW, I like Open Office. Using it on the Ubuntu machines @ home (it comes bundled) and got my wife to put it on her little carry-around netbook (which runs some flavor of Win7). You see, we're very old school and leery of phones that are smarter than we are...

Have any of you tried LibreOffice? It's a fork of OpenOffice, and I don't see a lot of differences.

Yes use Libre Office, it looks and plays like Open Office.
