Even for me and my wife ...... not..:frown:
I know she wouldn't go the distance to that one..Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

You have no idea until you experience them. :biggrin:____________________________________________________________

How would you describe the sound of the SRT's? Are they anything like regular SDA's and how's the clarity on them? Anything lacking in your opinion?
Thanks -
I posted that under misc deals and have been watching it, i've always wanted to see/hear those! There's been a lot of good deals on CL here in Austin lately.

When we had the LSiM GTG last Saturday, we ended the day by watching some David Gilmour 'Remember That Night' on BRD. The SRTs when cranked put you first row center at the concert. Nooshinjohn described them as having a sheer power and brute force. I'd have to agree. That said, they don't have the precise detail that we heard in the LSiM series. In fact, for fun we used the LSiM707 as a center channel and all agreed that it was a great combination. Rock concert force from the SRT's combined with clarity and detail in the vocals from the LSiM's made for a fantastic experience.
The SRT's are also an SDA speaker but the SDA is controlled in the SRT control center vs. the internal crossovers. SDA can be set to Off, Normal and Wide. It's really user preference as to how that is set. I'm sure the SDA effect would be better if the room configuration allowed for proper speaker placement but that is one of those compromises of married life that had to be made and I can live with it.
I prefer the RDO tweeters on my 1C's for music over the tri-laminate dome tweeter on the SRT's. The SRT's are bright just like their siblings (RT3000, 2000, etc.) They make fantastic HT speakers but unless I could control the highs better, not my first choice in music listening.____________________________________________________________

The SRT is the most sought-after Polk speaker system ever made (and deservedly so).
One of the few speaker systems that would ever make me even consider replacing the RT5000. -

I think your thinking of brettw22 he had a set and is in Salt Lake City Utah. I think the guy who ended up with them was from TX after NooshinJohn had to pass due to his move from IN to Cali."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I was thinking the same guy had some on Ebay who was here in Houston?

You are correct Jim, I tried to post these in the classifieds on here for fellow polkies to get first dibs but my post count isn't high enough. I'm relisting them on craigslist as we speak.
