I have a set of monitor 10a speakers,1 has a tweeter that does not emit sound.could anyone give me some diagnostic tips to find the problem?

    You could try checking the fuse in the back (where the binding posts are located). Make sure it's not blown, for starters.

    If the fuse is not blown there may be corrosion on the fuse holder. Use some contact cleaner. If you don't have any, remove the fuse a few times to cut through the corrosion (temporary solution). I would try installing a wire in the small holes of the fuse holder and jumper across instead of using the fuse to make certain all is well.

    That is good stuff ^^^ and I would also pull the tweeter and see if it is connected and then if that does not work, swap the tweeters from the bad to the good and see if it works in the other speaker. That will isolate if it is the tweeter or the speaker/ Crossover.

    I performed the tasks as instructed cleaned the fuse holder ,new fuse,checked all obvious wiring and connections they looked good.
    I then checked the suspect tweeter with a battery it made no noise.
    Can I assume that the tweeter is bad? I know that the other drivers
    worked so that part of the crossover should be working.I'm going to buy a
    tweeter install it and go from there.

    You still need to do this test to isolate if it is the crossover or tweeter. If the good tweeter works in the bad speaker you have isolated it to the tweeter. If it doesn't work it is the crossover. The crossover has a separate circuit with highs and lows, so the mid drivers working does not prove that the tweeter portion of the crossover is working.

    If yours are Peerless (they are in my 10As), you'll have some difficulty finding a matching unit as they've become scarce. Good luck & welcome !:smile:
