I meant back in Connecticut!!! My medication still has me a little loopy! I texted and forth with his mom earlier today and she said he is back in Connectiut and is "whipped" Anyways, one night is plenty to recover from "whipped" so I expect to hear from Ben tomorrow. Anything less is unacceptable, to pile on with the rest of the unacceptable....

Is he responding to emails at his Yahoo account? I sent him an email last night but wonder if he will even read it.

I own and iPod, not a Zune since my Kenwood head unit can't control one. I can, however, offer to play music from my Droid Charge as an alternative.

He wrote me back too - but I had only written him yesterday. BTW, being in CT he said he was without power for a while. I can definitely understand that problem since I was without power for 2.5 days, and CT got hit harder. I think there are still people without power there.

Anyway, he said he wanted to talk to me so we'll see if he calls. I did offer to help ship things back to people if he needed the help. Not preferable for me to get involved, but if it gets people there stuff quicker then maybe that's a good thing.

Just got off the phone with him. He got power back last night. No Internet until then either. Same thing happened to me. Even with a generator I had to Internet access.

Due to the haste in his move things were thrown into boxes without rhyme or reason. So he has to go through everything to find people's things. He said he would ship my recent tweeter purchase in a couple days.

I encouraged him to post on here. Basically his lack of presence has resulted in too much speculation. He said he'll post when he gets a chance to.

For anyone wondering where their stuff is - either write him at his Yahoo email or call him on his cell number (posted in another thread).

Hey Polkies. This is Ben posting as Ben. To the few that felt I was dodging people I gave out a number to relay messages to me. I was not dodging anybody. I will not sing a sad country and western song, but my lips are above water now. I had help from a a few friends that didn't know a speaker from a shower curtain, but I was so very great full to have them. I am shipping a few things out today, and will continue to get things out ASAP. Most of all thanks to the Polkies that were supportive through this.

Competition is always good, so I'm glad to hear that. However, I find it disappointing that none of their Excelon units, nor any of the navigation units support it.

The fact that their navi units don't support already rules it out for me. In addition, I see no real reason to switch over. My iPod/Kenwood combo works quite well. I also like the iPod's own interface (though I rarely use it outside of the car), so I have no complaints there. The only real complaint I have about the iPod is the abomination they call iTunes. However, I rarely have to use that, so I can deal with it.

Oh, and it is nice that the Zune finally has some models with large storage, as they were quite behind on that for awhile. However, their largest is still 120GB, whereas my iPod classic can hold 160GB. I have a pretty large library, and I like low levels of compression, so they are fairly large files. The 160GB gives me a bit of room to expand, whereas I'd be pushing it with the Zune.

    DO NOT BUY THAT HEADUNIT.

I spent the better part of a month researching it. I have a 32 gig Zune HD loaded with a bunch of music on it. The headunit never even loaded it all. I did a reinstall of the software, readded all my music, still no go.

I even had the Best Buy installer manually update the firmware on the headunit to the most recent stuff, still wouldnt load my Zune (and I am talking I waited 15+ mins).

We even took a brand new in box model off the shelf and tried to use it, still no go.

Best Buy installer called Kenwood and they said that honestly it could take even LONGER to load music depending on how many songs are on your Zune.

So basically if you have a Zune, either get a DVD player (so you can connect an external dock to it and use the external docks remote), or just use the Aux port.

kawizx9r (I think thats how you spell it) has a relative with that Headunit and it takes him a min of 5 mins to load his Zune everytime the car starts. That includes having the radio on but not the car and then turning the car on.

I love my Zune, but its a dead product per Microsoft so unfortunately your stuck with using the Aux port on anything to play it w/o some "fun" mods....

That's very interesting. You're the first to share that story. Well that kind of spoiled my day. Here I thought it was great to FINALLY see Zune integration OUTSIDE of Ford vehicles with the Microsoft Sync system... but that blows... I still wont buy an iPod though, you're right about crappy iTunes!

Well mostly because there are not that many folks with that Headunit, and even fewer with that headunit using it with a Zune.

If you want more info on it let me know, or talk to Freddy (kawizx9r)

Lets just say I have been debating going farther and integrating a laptop into my setup instead of a CD player (since I have everything digital and lots in FLAC format so its lossless). I posted a thread on it in the car section.

I did, and I am very appreciative. I have had a a few offers for donations, and replacements for the records I lost, but even though I turned them down I appreciate the gestures. This whole ordeal has changed my perspective on things. Mostly I believe if you owe something "you" owe it(Thanks Doro for the offer). That being said I may need a hand with one item which I shall offer up a few karma's in the future in return. Thank God for the garden and can goods. On a positive note I did get to see my girls on the first round down:smile: That has been a driving force in my life.

Ben, I know I when I talked with you on the phone, things sounded pretty crazy. As I said earlier, I have been cautiously optimistic and you are now proving to me that you are a man of your word. I had no prior experience with you, so I had nothing to build on.

Your mom called me earlier to verify my address. She mentioned that you have not been able to find your crimpers to make the Silver Cables yet. Not a problem. Just let me know if everything else shipped. If at all possible, if you can find the crimpers, I would really like to have the Silver Cables by the end of next week for the LSiM demo at my house.

I know I am not the only one who is thankful you are OK and that you made it safely back Connecticut.
