Thanks, man. Good luck getting your place boarded up!
I'm in Alexandria, VA, and I'm more concerned with flooding than with damaging winds. My 2-channel system is in my basement, which has flooded from time to time when the sump pump fails. We've got the pump on battery back-up now, but you never know... I'll be downstairs monitoring the incoming water (read: blasting my 2-channel system w/ my new 1.7's and drinking good beer), that way I can move stuff if necessary. It gives me a good excuse to indulge in my system for a couple days straight!:biggrin:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses
Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's -
I would still get the 2 channel upstairs. Pump can only do so much.
Good luck.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -

The highest the basement has ever flooded was only a couple inches, and that was during Isabel which was much larger than Irene. All of my electrical components are elevated several feet, so it's just the speakers I'd have to get off the floor.
Here's a pic a Isabel from 2003, she went much farther inland than Irene will:
