RTI4's with CS1 (or CS180) - timbre matching question
I have a pair of RTI4s (superseded by RTI A1). I am thinking about getting a center speaker to go along with my new TV.
I read that the CSi A4 matches with the RTI4 and the CS1 or CS180 matches with the TSI/Monitor line.
I'm on a budget, so I am thinking about picking up the CS1 or CS180 which can be had for $100. The CSi A4 costs around $279 on special here in Canada, so it is too pricey.
How noticeable will the difference be? The other choice in my price range is the Klipsch Icon VC-25.

Welcome to Club Polk!
The match for the Rti4 is the CSi 3 or 5, you can also use the newer line the CSi A4 or A6.
You can use a CS1 but it will be a tad off. Probably a little 'darker' sounding than the tweeter in the Rtis?
What is a CS 180?

Thanks for the help.
(CS180 I believe is a version of the CS1 sold by Future Shop in Canada.) -
No need to thanks us...that's why we're here.
I believe you could probably find a CSi 3 (the previous version of the CSi A4) used for around a 100 or less online, ebay, or whatever the equivalent of craigslist in Canada is?
Sometimes members here sell theirs on the forum. That's how I picked mine up. I use it with two Rti A3s as the front stage in my basement system.

I would hold off on the CS1 as it doesnt really timbre match your RTi's. I would agree with cnh to try and find a used one at a reasonable price online. Good luck.Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.
