Porcupine Tree, Drum solo week

I was pretty impressed with the Porcupine Tree drummer in a clip I saw for Drummer Solo Week on Late Night with Letterman.
I looked up Porcupine Tree (had not heard any of their music before) and they have boatloads of albums. Thought I might pick up a couple, maybe a concert BluRay as well.
Looking for recommendations...What are your favorite 2-3 Porcupine Tree albums?
Has their music style changed over the years and you prefer older more than newer? Any that emphasize the percussion more than other albums? (percussion sounds soooo good on 2.3TL's)
thanks

I got turned on to PT by a track on a DTS demo disc a few years back. Fear of a Blank Planet is one of my favorites in DVD audio. They do an excellent job of mixing in surround. The arriving somewhere DVD - another favorite, is from a live show recorded in Chicago in 2005.polk monitor 70's
center - polk monitor cs2
surround - polk monitor 60's
surround back - jbl e10
sub - velodyne dps 12

tv - silicon dust hd homern
blu-ray - oppo bdp-103
hd dvd- toshiba hd xa2
control - logitech harmony one
turntable - technics sl1500 mkII -
I've been listening to PT for about 15 years now - which was after they had already
released several CDs. They have been one of my very favourite bands since the time
I first heard them at Progfest in Towson, MD in June of 1996.
They really have evolved and shifter their style over the last 24 years, but they have
remained excellent throughout in my opinion.
My favourite DVD is Arriving Somewhere ... from Chicago 10/11/2005-10/12/2005 concerts.
Their second video - anesthetize - live in tilburg (oct 2008) is technically better (sound and video)
and also comes in BluRay, but I like the selection of songs on the first one better.
Favourite CDs include:
Up the Downstair
The Sky Moves Sideways
Stupid Dream
Lightbulb Sun
In absentia
Deadwing
fear of a blank planet
but the other 8 albums I have are also very good.
Don't have any on vinyl as they're expensive and hard to get.cristo
NAD C 545BEE cd player, Philips AF877 turntable / Shure V15V-MR with JICO SAS stylus,
Tascam 122 mkIII cassette deck, Harman Kardon 3480 receiver, Terk FM-50 antenna in the attic,
Soundcraftsmen SE550 stereo equalizer, Polk Monitor 10a speakers
(with Sonicraft/Solen/Mills crossover rebuild) -
Lightbulb Sun and Deadwing are my favorites.

Fear of a Blank Planet is probably my favorite out of the four I've heard. I like them all though. Arriving Somewhere is a good DVD.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden
