Baby Advent II tweeters

I just had one of the tweeters go out on my baby advent II's and wanted to see if anyone had one or two laying around that they would be willing to sell. I checked online but the original replacements cost more than the speakers are worth and mine already have aftermarket woofers. I'd like to try to save them from "retirement" help!

I suggest that you check the forum at Parts Xpress, they can probably recommend a pair of tweeters that will match up and be less than $30.00/pr.
And, there's always ebay for the real thing.

I've got a pair of Advent Graduates. I wonder if they have the same tweeter.

From what I have read they use the same tweeter - are you looking to sell?

Well I'll probably never use these speakers again and it's cost prohibitive to sell and ship them.
I just took them out and 3 corners of one are chipped off but could likely be glued back on. The other one is intact but is starting to split on a couple corners. I think they could be functional or maybe remounted on your mounts. It's up to you.

Those tweeters are notorious for both failing, and having the housing thing crack at the screw holes. And they want $22 a pop brand new from Advent. Eat me.

$22 each is a lot - I have a total of 9 bucks invested in these speakers! lol

dragon1952 - what are you looking to get out of the old tweets? Mine were cracked on the edges also but still mounted okay.

They want $39 plus $3 shipping from simplyspeakers.com. Crap for $22 I'd just buy a brand new one :^ )
    Where are you located?

    Gavin-
can you put up a pic of what you have, (the tweet itself and the whole speaker) I have a couple of pairs of the smaller advents and may be able to help.

Can you use the old "fried egg" advent tweeters? There seems to be a lot of them available. (after the woofer's foam disintegrates). Also...things are sold pretty cheaply in AudioKarma's buy/sell section, have you checked there yet?

Sorry Gavin mine are slightly different. They are mounted horizontal (advent name plate) instead of vertical and have a cone tweet type of look vs the plastic bezel yours has.
