hehe - I once ran 5 Adcom amps, a receiver, cd player, tv, powered subwoofer, vcr, dvd player off of one 15 amp circuit.... which also had a computer, monitor and other misc things in the room on that circuit.

    Never tripped it once. hehe

Sounds like a good ole Federal Pacific, burnt down many structures before tripping !

I do home inspections and I write up Federal Pacific boxes all the time. When people ask why I just tell them to google it, usually freaks them out.

$120 a year not bad IMHO. But got to laugh due to the fact the Local electric company states FRIG in GARAGE oh that will add to bill. Ok so I hookup a Killawatt meter states this to me 170 watts per hour runs some 18 to 22 hours a day. Hmmm..... Now get this because I like others believed that this had to be 2 to 3 times what it would cost to run indoors. So I placed the Killawatt meter on the Frig inside, found this out 170 watts to run and runs some 18 to 22 hours a day. Shocked as the Frig in garage is old build 96 so 15 yrs old not what I thought earlier, and the Frig in the house newer at the time 2 yrs old, and marked Green. Well after that I sleep well known what it really cost me to run.

Just a note on the Killawatt and refrigerators and other cycled devices. You need to let it test for at least a week. In the early first few days it reads very high. After 7-10 days it averages out and gives you a true reading. This is a mathmatical thing on averages, not a fault of the killawatt. If it is costing you more than $60 a year there is a problem.

Why when the tag inside states $60 to run in 1996 with 7.8 cents per kw? $10 a month is a little high but this was in a very hot month, so I think it would be lower at times.

Be sure to clean them coils, especially if there's pet hair around. Dirty coils will run up the rpms on your meter plus cause nearly constant runtimes. The wife hates it when I bring a tank of air & a nozzle into the kitchen to blow the fuzz off of the fridge coils. heh heh !

Cleaning the coils on that Frig is a must do, thanks for bringing that up.
