Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rod Version (Opinions)

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rods at what I think is a decent price. Does anyone here have any experience with them. They are several hours away and I most likely won't be able to get my ears on them before I buy them. I am deferring to the vast experience on this thread to give me some advice.

I have researched them fairly extensively, and they appear to have gotten phenomenal reviews when they came out. Any thoughts or opinions? Are they in the same or higher league than say the LSi series? Particularly the LSi15 or LSi25? New they were $3200, but that doesn't always mean much

I am in the fortunate position to be able to grab several pairs of speakers and land on 1 or 2 in my 2 channel system, but I want to pick those pairs carefully.

Thanks!

Don
