I might have the opportunity to pick up what seem to be a pair of Dynaco A25s except that, from the pics, they most definitely have had their tweeter replaced with some more modern version (looks cheaper).

I'm assuming that that might mean the crossovers were also tampered with. What do you guys think. Are a pair of Dynacos with good woofers and cabinets worth $25 or so. And if I did get these could I find original tweeters/crossovers to put them back they way they were?

Thanks!

The tweeter could be tricky but I am sure you could make the crossovers correct if they were tampered with.

I see this alot with vintage stuff. People overdrive small receivers and kill tweeters and then go to RS or PE and replace it with something completely different.

It may sound fine but it probably will sound funny.

The cabinets alone are worth the 25 so I would do it.

There was at least one (probably several) upgrade "replacement" tweeters for the A-24 over the years... so there is hope.

I'd concur, for $25 smackers it's a no brainer unless the kids and family pooch at home are, y'know, malnourished and stuff...
