I've seen this band 3x, and no one comes close on the energy scale.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
+1 for Magic Dick, not to metion Neil Young, John Poper of Blues Traveler (seeing them tommorow night), however I do beleive Junior Wells was one of the best Harp players check him out.Home Theater

While this isn't the best from Poppa John, he does a Killer harp on 'Too Much Food on my Plate' from Jason Mraz Live, I can't find the video of that song, so here's Curbside Prophet, http://www.hulu.com/watch/121724/jason-mraz-curbside-prophet-live :cool:Thorens TD125MKII, SME3009,Shure V15/ Teac V-8000S, Denon DN-790R cass, Teac 3340 RtR decks, Onix CD2...Sumo Electra Plus pre>SAE A1001 amp>Martin Logan Summit's -
I just got Thom Doucette's "The Douce is Loose" from the late 1970's. He did the harmonica work on the Allman's Fillmore East album and there is some pretty good stuff on this one.

For a careers worth of harp work, take a listen to Delbert McClinton, who BTW, reportedly taught the Beatles how to play it many years ago.

Absolutely! I've never heard anyone that can do what John Popper does.
I Saw Blues Traveller live at the Cats Cradle, a club that holds around 5-600 - he/they were every bit as good as their recordings."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
Not really, but I just figured I'd throw this one out there....

Another vote for Big Popper.
The way he can go in and out of whailing on the harp to singing at a super fast pace is amazing. I know it's the most overplayed song, but hear him do "Hook" live...pretty impressive. My favorite song of theirs is The Mountains Win Again even though that %$^&$ beer commercial messed it up in the 90's.2 ChannelTurntable - VPI Classic 2/Ortofon 2M BlueAmplification - Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II, Parks Audio Budgie PhonoSpeakers - GoldenEar Triton 17.2 Home TheaterDenon AVR-X3300W; Rotel RMB-1066; Klipsch RP-280F's, Klipsch RP-450C, Polk FXi3's, Polk RC60i; Dual SVS PB 2000's; BenQ HT2050; Elite Screens 120"Man CaveTurntable - Pro-Ject 2.9 Wood/Grado GoldAmplification - Dared SL2000a, McCormack DNA 0.5 DeluxeCD: Cambridge AudioSpeakers - Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary; LSiM 703; SDA 2A -

Canned Heat played with some of the greats. Give John Lee Hooker & Canned Heat. '' Whiskey & Wimmen '' a listen. Or with Clarence Gatemouth Brown.

Try to read the monitors, I believe you're losing consciousness ! Rapidly !!! Read post #21 while yer at it. -
To me and my ears.....Popper is WAY too frenzied and confused sounding and not just a little "unsettling". Then again, he's got plenty of fans without me in that number !

+1 to Lee Oskar. Also Cisco Kid, The World is a Ghetto, and more. One of the founders and a very integral part of War.
