WOW, Great idea for the Marantz SR5005

So this is the first time I have seen a company advertise a service like this. Got this info via an email but wont repost since techincally it is a violation of thier newsletter terms of service.....
Outlaw Audio will phsyically disconnect the amplification section of the a Marantz SR5005 bought from them for 75 bucks, test it to ensure its working up to spec, warranty the AVR for 4 years, and undo the mod for free during that time.
The 5005 has pre-outs so you could save yourself some energy, heat and wear and tear on this if your running external amplification. Pretty spiffy deal if you ask me.
Wonder if they would disconnect just 3, or 5 of them for folks who have more speaker channels than external amplification:

I have the SR 5005 and was wondering that if Outlaw sells Marantz receivers, does that mean that Outlaw amps are a better sonic match to Marantz than most other amplifiers? I am having a hard time picking out an amplifier for my RTi12's and CSi5.

I have not heard much Outlaw's sound. Are they on the warm, neutral, or bright side of amps?

Outlaw's first amps were designed and manufactured by Morris Kessler at ATI (Amplifier Technologies Inc.) in Montebello, CA. They were (and still are) incredible amps for the money).
I know Outlaw moved the design in house a few years back and I'm not sure if the manufacturing was also moved. I know the philosophy back then was "warm" and "laid back" along the lines of NAD and Rotel. I owned one of their first Outlaw efforts (a five channel) although it was branded "ATI". It was probably one of the best amps I ever owned and I wish I still had it. Here's a link to their site. Maybe you could drop them a note and see if they still do the Outlaw stuff.
