I believe the db840 is still the best one out there. If the Polk Engineering folks recommend it, I'd do it (I did).

Just keep in mind if you buy from a unauthorized dealer (both those links are) then you get no warranty if something goes wrong (with the sub).

I went ahead and spent the extra cash and went with Crutchfield. They are running buy 1 get one 1/2 off sale right now. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB840/Polk-Audio-db840.html?search=db840&skipvs=T

After this mod, your crossovers should be next (or a better amp to drive your LSi's depending on what you have)

    Great, thanks for confirming that.
Appreciate the buying tips, need to ship to Western Australia so I'll check those options.
Online prices over here are about $139 but I'll shop around and contact a few stores direct.

Currently using an Elektra Theatre HD Amp, made over here, made a huge difference over firstly my Onkyo 875, than Nad T973. Here's the specs on my current amp

There is a really cheap pair of these subwoofers on eBay right now and might be worth a shot.

I know you are in Australia but I thought someone might be interested.

    The item number is 250875802624
