IB sub questions

I was contemplating the idea of going with an IB sub instead of the box that's in the room. My HT room is a dedicated room in the garage. I have one 15" Tempest and a 250w plate amp. Is this enough for a room that's roughly 16x9? I do not want to buy another sub just to test the idea if it will work or not. At least for testing purposes I'd have to install the sub in the back of the room, not the front. Would this create sound issues? Would doing this also create a lot more sound noise outside the theater room in the garage?

Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

    Low volume yes. You also need to check the Q of that driver to make sure it'll work for IB- AND BE CAREFUL TURNING UP THE VOLUME. Messing around with IB is a great way to fry a driver.

    Not really. Assuming you cross it around 40hz, you probably won't notice. 80hz, you will be able to tell it's in the back, but for movies that would be fine.

    Yes. There's as much SPLs going out the front as the back.

    No one using an IB will tell you putting it at the back of the room is a good idea.

    I know, it was just a thought. Something worth trying. I did, at one point, have my sub in the back of the room, in a box, behind the seating and it was not noticeable. It was x'd over so low you could not tell where the sub was.
