Polk cables, what do I have?

I got a pair of vintage Polk cable. They are braided green and copper with a clear cover over the cable. On the end of the braided cable to the speaker, it looks like some sort of cap with steel wire coming out from the cable? AVR end just is steel looking into the braided cable. I don't really know what I have and can't see how the pos and neg wire is working in this braided mode?

Thanx, Bill

You have the somewhat rare, and mildly sought after (for Polk collectors, not for the sound) Polk 'Cobra' cable. It's a litz braid, and gained a small reputation as an amp killer - though I never had any issue when I owned them, and I haven't seen any reported issues on the forum from other owners either.

    Cheers,

I guess I'll shelve them, and I should have saved the $$$.

:confused: Did you Google as I suggested? Why would you shelve them?

Ah I see, so you're not shelving them because they won't work, just don't need them.

If they work better than my Blue Jeans Canare 4S11 Cable, I will try them. I have a Sunfire Grand Cimena Signature 400 wpc amp driving a set of Polk RT2000p mains.
