Subwoofer placement

I have a PS111 subwoofer and would like to place it behind my LCD 47" TV. The TV sits in the corner diagonally between the joining walls so there is plenty of room. Is that placement OK? Also, can I sit the subwoofer on it's back so that the cone is facing upwards to the high ceilings?

Corner placement is normally good but I would sit the Sub the normal way. I wouldn't have it facing the ceiling. Is your space limited....or do you have room in the other corner ? You could try that as a comparison to see what sounds best.Home Theatre.............

The "Crawl" method actually worked quite well for me, if you don't have measuring equipment.
Place your sub where ever your head will usually be while listening, and shove your face down do subwoofer level. Crawl around your place like a drunken idiot until you find a spot where you thing the subs sounds best, and place it there.
I've never liked the sound of corner palcement, personally. Well, a foot out from it had seemed fine for me. But like most thing audio, do what sounds best to YOU. -
Yes,don't jam the sub in the corner so that it touches the walls. Try something like 4-8 inches from the side wall and maybe 4-6 inches from the back wall to start.Home Theatre.............

I got my subs in the cornor facing up and 3' off the ground behind my tv it sounds real good , I was concerned I would have a loss with not having the cone close to the ground but I guess it still radiates that way , my main reason in putting the cones up so high is I was concerned with having the magnets low right at the tvs "heart" .
