I could cut my gas bill in half if I didn't have to heat up the entire oven for a few fish sticks every time.

We don't have a toaster over or a microwave. We do have a double LG oven and use the smaller top one often to cook small things for the kids.

    no microwave? With kids?? wowsers...

Does the small oven pre-heat fast? Our old toaster oven heated to 350 in 3 minutes versus about 10 for the full sized oven. The air fryer is almost instantly cooking, you don't have to pre-heat. With multiple young children speed is essential lol...

Yes, when we moved to our current house it was new and no appliances. We rarely used the microwave. We thought lets not get one. As for the speed of the smaller one, it is faster than the bigger one plus we use less energy, how fast I'm not sure. I might have to look into that air fryer

I don't cook in my dishwasher but I think that you'll find that washing your delicates in the top rack does a very nice job.

yea the funny thing is we gut remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago, and we kept the old microwave and shoved it in a cabinet keep it hidden away. I bought an induction range with oven and RARELY use the oven until very recently (I have started braising more often) but i LOVE the induction range because it heats to fast and evenly.

Here if I cook something in the oven its in the outdoor over, i.e. the gas grill.

I think you would really like the air fryer. Great for anything you want to fry or crisp up, also great for small pizzas, small batches of cookies, etc. And it toasts really fast as well...worth every penny for us.

Since this thread was necro'ed, I ended up getting the Breville toaster oven like 8 years ago now. Lucked out, picked it up on a Black Friday Woot-Off for about $125 shipped.

It's been pretty stellar since and it get used and abused by the entire family, daily but...when it's cleaned up, still looks brand new!

I am looking at a Breville Smart Oven Pro.

They are pricey but get mixed reviews. The cooking and toasting aspect and overall functionality get rave reviews but I have also seen many reviewers remark about how their ovens have failed in a year or less due to some inherent faulty electrical issue (iirc, it was an electrical issue but it may have been another issue like a fan issue or something).

If you have experience with the Breville Smart Oven Pro, can you let me know if it has been reliable? I do not want to pay close to $300 for one, only to have it die a year later (right after warranty period expires, of course, lol).

    Thanks.

Can't comment on the Breville, but I've had this one for a year and a half with zero problems, and it gets used 3-4 times a week:

    Talk about a useless post.

I don't have a smart oven pro. I only have the original smart oven. It's been going for 8 years now. I'm probably jinxing myself on it but I don't know what problems people have had. I haven't seen any yet. At this point, I don't think it owes me much but I'm hoping it keeps rocking for 8 more years 'cause it's a pretty nice toaster oven.

    Because it ticks you off.

Also, the post is over 8 years old. Back then, I needed a toaster oven. I got some good suggestions. I followed one of them and have had a successful go for a number of years now.

Only now has it turned in to absurdity and I'm gonna call out absurdity when I see it.

I didn't say that THIS THREAD specifically was a meltdown.

I may not know much about audio but I do know a whole hell of a lot about human psychology and even more about human behavior on internet forums. You follow a very easy pattern to categorize.

For example: Mentioning my post count and calling all of my posts "useless" without reading them all? That's one sign. Then saying I am the one "crying"? What's next? "Mom's basement" comments or are you just going to call me a "pedo"? :o:p

This is exactly what happens with you every time.

"O gee, I didn't get the credit I wanted for my ridiculously overlong post about something. THIS WILL NOT DO, NO SIR!!!!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
