If I would to plug in my amp directly into the APC H15 unit... Would the conditioner be able to supply enough power to it?

Thanks.

The short answer is yes. You would want to plug your amp in in the red outlined outlets. Those two outlets are for devices that draw alot of current. If this is like my Belkin PF40 then the filtering is there that you are looking for but the two outlets do not limit current. Here is a link to the manual btw. http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z7V8X_R0_EN.pdf

Here is what it says in the manual.
High Current Filter Outlets provide filtering for your high current
    devices (Subwoofer and Amplifier).
    Everything matters. That is all.

Maybe, maybe not.:smile:It would be dependant upon the sensitivity and relative load the speakers present to the amp,as well as the program material and listening level etc. That is a fairly potent amplifier so it's concievable that the PC will limit it's full dynamic power potential if the speakers present a low impedance load ,have low sensitivity and you like to listen at reference levels.

On the other hand I'm sceptical of any huge sonically benificial results by running the amp through the APC unless your AC line is particularily noisy and the APC is able deal with it effectively.

I don't think it will be able to supply enough current for that amp personally. If you have nothing else plugged into the APC I think it would still come up short in current.

I have had my Pass Aleph 30 plugged into my H15 no issues. I have also plugged it into the wall. I don't hear a difference between the two set-ups. I don't think you will have a problem with it plugged into the H15 as the outlet is capable of 15A and it actually has a display showing you how much of the total load you are using.

I have all my gear plus a plasma TV plugged into my H15 and with everything powered up it uses 28% of the available load. If I turn off the Aleph is uses about 15% of the load. Plug in the amp and run a very high volume dynamic passage and see how much draw everything has. People get all bent around the axel about this kind of stuff like their gear is going to draw more current than an outlet can supply. That's very rare.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks all.

I'm going to plug everything in and see what kind of load i will be using.

I'm also a no power conditioner user when it comes to amps. I've yet to hear a difference and I've owned several.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have an APC J-10 & shut it completely down while jamming with a Sunfire Ultimate Receiver. When it booted back up, the screen said to call APC for technical help~

Sounds like an APC malfunction. Did you ever find out why? What else were you running at the time? As nice as the Sunfire is, I can't believe it could draw so much current consistently to shut that down without there being a defect or several other large draw components on at once.

I was running full 7.1 setup at the time at ear-bleed levels (War of the Worlds). I rebooted & it worked fine. The J-10 is only a 695 watt unit. The H-15 & J-15 are 1000 watt units.

That would make sense my H15 is 1.5kW and I suppose if you had your sub hooked to it as well.

I doubt I would hear a difference too..

My main concern is have pricey equipment w/o and surge protection.

The main reason I like mine is for voltage regulation. With my amp it doesn't matter so much because it will compensate for variable line voltage. But the other components like dvdp, Squeezebox, TV, Dac, etc. It's nice for surges and brown outs, but a direct lightening hit won't be stopped.

In severe storms I just unplug everything. Last big storm we had (we've had a lot this season) my neighbors tree got hit and I was in my basement because the weather was that bad at the moment and when it hit the tree I could hear it sizzling and I was inside, below ground about 300 feet away.

Scared the crap out of me!
