Modified Polk LSi9s w/ Skylan Stands - Price: $550 local pickup
These have a storied past. You can read about the modifications done in this thread, and you can see the
original F/S thread. These were purchased new by myself in June 2004, sold to AlanD in July 2006, and repurchased in May 2008.
The modifications include adding dynamat extreme to the inside of the cabinet, the baskets, and the rear port. In addition I have felted the tweeters to resolve inherent diffraction issues.
The stands are 28in two post Skylan Stands which are custom made to match the LSi9s. These stands feature MDF top/bottom plates, polymer columns, and threaded rods to hold it all together. Read the reviews, these are excellent stands and I still use a 33in pair w/ my SIA Rothschilde A2s.
Condition:
The LSi9s are in good condition, but have one larger blemish. I scratched the left side of my right speaker moving my 141lb Cinenova amp. I used a gaurdmaster pen to cover it up, see pics below. I do not have the original box or packaging.
The Skylans are in good condition, and have a few small chinks/scratches, but nothing serious.
Terms:
These are for sale locally unless stated otherwise in subsequent posts. I live in Suffield, CT and work in New Britain, CT. Am willing to drive up to 50 miles to sell these. Accepting Paypal gift or regular paypal (add 1.5%). For users with verifiable good feedback accepting USPS MO or Cash. I have feedback on Head-Fi and on Audiogon.

Local only might have something to do with it"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
He's local to me.......but i was kinda holding out for the 703's in a couple months.....
That and if i bring anything else home right now the little lady will castrate me with an eraser!
I'll try and see if my brother wants any new speakers...he's only about a 35 minute drive from you.
Otherwise, GLWTSWhere’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
odd weapon choice

Thanks guys, I figured local will take a little longer to sell.
Forgot I added that pic in there, Benchmade Ti-Pika, I love my benchmades.
-
-
mmmmm yes, Benchmades are sweet!
-
I figure local is what is killing this for most people. I will also throw in some Auralex acoustic treatments to sweeten the deal. I have 6-8 panels and i think 4 bass traps.

no shipping?
For the time being no. I don't have the original box or packing material, if I aquire boxes large enough to ship these safely, then I will look into shipping. -
I'm pretty sure you can order the packing from Polk for these, may make it a little easier to move it. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up, just called and no dice, they no longer sell the foam inserts. -
Go to Lowes and buy a 4 x 8 2" foam insulation sheet - cut it to size...
Indestructible and hardly takes up any additional space or weight- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
