Just wanted to give two big thumbs up to Epson's support team. I bought a projector here on the forum and it's been great. The only issue is that the bulb blew out prematurely not long ago at about ~900 hours.
Overall, I have been very pleased with the picture and performance on a 120" screen.
I was prepared to have to drop $300 on the new bulb, but hoped they'd cover it given that it didn't last nearly as long as was advertised. Epson extended the warranty to 3 years so I was still covered even though I was not the original owner.
The are sending me a new lamp free of charge overnight FedEx tomorrow.
That's great customer service right there and when it's time to upgrade I will be giving deference to Epson in my decision making.

Did you send the old one back?
Whats the contact info if this was to happen to another polkie and they wanted a new bulb ?
What model is it ? and did they ask for the serial number etc ? -
The bulb blew in my 8500UB and Epson replaced it with no hassles... and honestly, it had seen over 3x more use than Demi's before it popped (2,800 hours), so I would've been perfectly fine with having to pay for one. Epson sent me a new one 2-day with a box to return the old one (which I assume they will re-lamp). I'm on about 250 hours since then, and I'm still floored at how good the 8500UB looks. BIG thumbs up for Epson's customer service. It would be hard for me to purchase another brand after that.Equipment list:
