Costco ups the ante

Recently I've seen my local Costco carrying receivers by Yam and Pioneer. These are lower end (no pre-outs) but 5.1 and 7.1 A/V receivers. Can't remember the Elite model number but advertised as an 80wpc x 7.

And to my surprise, I saw an HTIB with an Onkyo RC370 and a Bose 5.1 satellite speaker system, not that I'm excited about either, but it was going for $799. and the Onk retails from it's home site for more than that. Go Costco.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can walk in and see an array of high end speaker selections.

I saw in another thread that they have the SC35 online, that may or may not be in the local stores.

I recently had a new Pioneer Elite VSX-31 for sale on Craigslist for $375 when a potential buyer told me that a local Costco has them for sale for $299.99. I had to check this out so I went to my local Costco only found a lower non Elite model there. I checked Costco.com and indeed they had Pioneer Elite VSX-31's for $299.99 and they also had them packaged with speaker combinations. Good thing the guy I sold mine for $375 didn't check Costco.com! Sold mine because it didn't have pre-outs.

Oh yeah, I was back in Costco again, the HTIB was an Onk RC230. I did see Costco on line had the SC-35, wow, you can buy two and still have some left over from MSRP on the Pio site. I just may switch from my Onk 807 to Pioneer and see what ICE amps are all about.
