May I assume its a matter of cutting it to size and applying to to outside of the driver baskets? Any more involved than that? And any of you that have done it aprox how much is needed to do a pair of rta 12's not sure how much to order.

search the threads for one where a guy (sorry, don't remember his name) photo documented upgrading his SDA 1C's. he shows great detail on how he cut and where he mounted the dynamat to the drivers and PR's.

    Have fun!

Buy a whole pair of doors box and you'll have enough for a multitude of projects and mods. I think it's 50-60. C'mon man, just think about 50 1x4" strips for a second....just as a rough way to decide.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Amazon dynamite extreme. I used on the 4 spokes of the basket on the outside and a small amount on the circular part at the top of the spokes. While at it jb weld the magnet and top washer part of the driver. I did it in 3rds. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry that you found a clear answer rude. Measuring the basket ring length/width is not rocket science and there's no need to overthink the entire project. It's sticky, you cut it and stick it to the basket, press it firmly and move on to the next ring.

A door kit from Dynamat is more than enough, as stated previously, to do an entire set of drivers and more. What more do you want to know? Why is this so difficult? Should I have expounded on the weather of my location, the anticipated political forecast of tomorrow's news or perhaps what excites me in my nether region?

WGDB - Hopefully you'll drop some wisdom or reflective thoughts instead of disgruntlement in the future. If you're expecting smiley faces and funny emoticons, go elsewhere....it's just data and simply not that exciting to post about.

The best suggestion for anyone buying Dynamat.

I don't see how his answer was rude in any way. If you were looking for a freebie you need to state that. If not than the answer he gave is your best solution. You said it yourself you have many projects and this amount of Dynamat will cover future plans as well.

By the way, the old guys with a gazillion posts are not mind readers and try to be straight with people. If that isn't your cup of tea than maybe this forum isn't for you.
