any other PA/NJ polkies going to Bethlehem this year for fun & suds? This will be the 1st year in several that we are not going to a headliner concert...just plan to walk around with our old beer mugs and take in the atmosphere.

I've never been... Weird, since I live close. I hear it's a good time, though! http://www.musikfest.org/

Getting ready to pack the car. This is our 6th year going to it. Always a good time...trying to behave myself a little more this time so I can enjoy breakfast a little more tomorrow :)

Know what you mean about being close but never been...we are only 12 miles from LL World Series event and I've only ever been once.

Just got home. Had a good time as usual. Several good "street concerts" while we were there. Some new crafts vendors, weather was picture perfect, would like to have stayed today too but couldn't swing it.

It is getting expensive though, had a sausage sandwich, chicken fingers and some really tasty grilled corn on the cob along with several 24oz beer mug refills and went thru about $100 before it was dark. Still happening thru Sunday.

It happens we are going back in 2 weeks to see Mary Chapin Carpenter...staying same hotel as they have a shuttle so no worries about drinking/driving.

Wow... I figured it would be costly. I was thinking about going down during the day on Saturday, but I wouldn't want to have a few beers and then drive back the hour home.

I'm going tomorrow - I go every year. I'm only like 10 minutes away. I have some funny stories from there. I have friends performing at it, so I'll make a day out of it.

I wish I was close like that James....the place is just over run w/people after about 5pm. I want to get there earlier in the day next time. There was some good talent there yesterday.

Spent the last week there. I have taken vacation around musikfest for the last 10yrs.

This year we saw, Maroon 5, Steve Miller Band and Straight No Chaser for the big concerts and a few other acts at the free show areas.

The one thing I will say is the Sound at Musikfest is always great. It isn't ear piercing and always super clean and clear. Almost album sound from the big stage. They do a real good job.

They don't always have the best bands or shows but overall I like to support the Arts if I can. The wife and I are ArtsQuest Premium Members. I wish they did something like this in my area.

The weather must have put a damper on sales too, got an email regarding Sunday(last day)...mugs were discounted and so were the refills...a few other discounts too.

Agree about the sound, saw CSN and Moody Blues there and really enjoyed the concerts even though we were many rows away from the stage.

Just learned that a "local" team made it to the Little League WS...guess I need to go to a game this year!

I was in Allentown on Saturday. Was thinking about going to Musikfest, but it poured down rain all afternoon. The trip on 476 was white-knuckle both ways. So, instead of visiting the Musikfest, I visited the Allentown Brew Works :). Good food and beer....
