I thought you had a post count of (around) 67 about 5 days ago. How did you end up back at only 1? Was your membership already deleated, but you created a new acount with the same user name? Or, were your postings reset to zero again? Or, am I just going crazy? (I don't believe it's the last one). If you simply don't want to participate, as others have mentioned don't log into your account on the forum.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I think the mods saw he was just trying to build a post count and so they deleted a few of them. I saw a few threads that he was quoted by another member but the post was then deleted.

The above member asked to be deleted and it had nothing to do with the perception that his post count was FM driven. His reception was icy at best and after some less than kind PM's, he has decided to leave our forum. I don't blame him in that respect.

Look guys, don't run off members. I know that you may notice a pattern in what they're doing and if it was the 25 posts limit that it was a long time ago, I'd say it was necessary. Now the post count requirement is 100 and if they're putting forth that much effort to get into the FM, then so be it. That's the rule plain and simple and to rag on them beforehand is not cool.

If it bothers you, alert the moderators and we'll keep an eye on it or perhaps send a friendly message about the issue. Don't take the forum law into your own hands under the guise of protecting the membership. You're not and its not your job.

What is your responsibility as prudent members is to identify this and alert the proper individuals. However, there's no reason why you couldn't keep a vigilant eye on that member after post 100, to make sure they stay on task and are not just using our forum for their wallet. After post 100, all bets are off in other words since they are then a fully operational Polkie. Just stay out of their FM posts since that's a violation of the rules as well. You can take care of all of us, just do it in a smarter and kinder way.

Regardless, he's asked to be erased and we will comply.

REMINDER; Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. The truth is that the world needs people like us to show them the way to great audio. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage the next generation of audiophiles. You dont want to be the last audiophile, do you?

You're right about the first point - we'd definitely have no fun; however, I sincerely doubt the whole industry would collapse.

Also, if it was only you and me left here, it wouldn't be long until you were alone...

it had nothing to do with the perception that his post count was FM driven.

It wasn't a perception. it was reality. He even tried unloading his stuff in other areas while trying to get 100 posts.

He thought he was slick, he wasn't. No loss in my book.

I dunno, maybe the best solution would be to let them race to 100, and then ignore the FM post that's sure to come.

A better idea put forth by yours truly is to have a section for newbie sales, while keeping the real FM hidden from view to newbies until they reach 100 posts. It would solve all sorts of issues.

Not gonna happen. Let it ride off into the sunset.

It's really not that big of an issue anymore and this was just a single, psuedo-example out of months of activity with not peep.
