The water has been boiling...

I am getting closer and closer to paying my Dad off. Christmas is rearing near, birthday is right up Christmas's tail and the money is going to start flowing here in a little bit.

Alot of upgrade opprotunities will arrive as these events pass me by, my question now is; what do I do?

I can find the RT600i on Ebay for 100-200. The CSi40 is selling for 250-300. The RT35i needs a new tweeter. Here is what I am looking at...right now.

1) Pay Off Dad
2) SVS PB2 ISD
3) RT600i for surrounds (on shelves (REALLY BIG SHELVES))
4) Replacement RT35i tweeter
5) XBox

tell me what ya think

Move #3 down to #5, and move 4 and 5 each up 1 notch.

    Sid,

Have you conisidered upgrading your room. You should give your speakers a little more breathing room. I think you should seriously put this in your upgrade link.

Uh....no! lol! You havn't seen my new room setup. It is MUCH different than the last one. There is no way I can upgrade my room, as I will not put it in the den and right now in my current room setup...the RTi70 sounds friggin awesome. Just problems with the open closet on the left side of the room, a nasty treble reverb right there....

Great Idea though! I will upgrade my room when I move out! lol! :D

How old are you? That sub seems a little too much for a bedroom don't you think.

I'm 14, I am looking at the future, not now. The sub will rattle my room. Show off rights are a must, I will never fully use its capabilities...*yet*.

I am going to give my neighbor a reason to call me to turn it down. She called me when the bass hit 107...what about 130? lol

I'd skip out on the PB2 for a while.......It's not even that you wont' be using it to t's potential 'yet'......it's that you won't be using it virtually at all unless you plan on getting thumped in the head when you annoy the people that live with you, let alone in the house next to you.

Putting the 600's on shelves is a horrible idea.......let alone ugly sounding. I don't know if you're talking about lying them on their sides or if you're going to keep them upright, but either way would be an eye-sore in a room. (Towers that reach the 8 foot mark?) Please, remember that with design, aesthetic appeal is a must........

To your original list, I'd go 1, 4, 5, 3, 2. If you notice, the order also happens to go in smallest to large in regard to prices(the only possible exception being 1, which regardless is most important). No need to blow all the money ya have for one of the things on your list, when you could in reality do 2-3 of them at the same time.......

No you don't get the situation. I HAVE to replace the subwoofer. The M&K is SOLD to a friend. Will be shipped out of my room at christmas time. i MUST have a subwoofer.

The M&K hits 107db, thats all it will hit with basic music. I have measured. It has hit 118db on a bass sweep. This is measured, not guesstimated.

Here looks to be the upgrade path as of now...

    1) Pay off Dad

    2) Around christmas time, depending on funds

A PB2 ISD or a PCi 20-39. Depending on funds.

    3) Replace the rt35i tweet (I do not like the i38...)

    4) shelves for 35i, in surround

    5) Xbox, games, controllers, etc

    1. pay off dad

    2. get PSB 1 sub

    3. forget the RT600i's and get true surrounds like the FXi30's or 50's.

    4. replace blown tweeter

    5. enjoy!

    1. Pay off pops

    2. Buy sub. For a bedroom, I'd go with something a little cheaper, but thats my opinion.

    3. Fix tweeter in 35i. (why buy something new when you plan on fixing that anyways)

    4. Save some money for down the road. Or buy the Xbox. Your call.

Sid, I would get a powered cylinder from SVS, they are lighter and easier to move than the boxes, which you will probably appreciate considering I am sure you will move it at least a couple times.

Well, I will look at my funds around christmas and post back about the subwoofer.

I was looking at the RT600i because it would be cheaper, to get them. Fix the tweeter in the rt35i and use the pair as a big center channel. But I guess I will have to go with a CSi40 or the newer center.

I am really looking for a massive HT, Gaming subwoofer. If I get anything it will atleast be the PCi 20-39. Thats the least I will get. Even then, I want more. The dual 12's is very appealing to me, as I love to feel it, as I want the neighbors to also. I will report back when the funds come. Don't worry, will not make a move until I know how much I have. This is just a list, nothing set...
