Monitor 50 or 60 for HT?
I had a set of R30s with a CSi25 center. I recently upgraded to a CS2 center and am surprised at how much better it is than the CSi25 was.
Now I want to upgrade my mains. Thinking about the M50s and the M60s. The M60s are $100 more for the pair. Is there that big a difference? What will I hear in the 60s that I won't in the 50s (or the R30s for that matter)?
This is 100% theater use, and I have an excellent subwoofer.

You will get more mid with the 60's due to the increase in total woofer size, and will get more low end if you listen to direct or 2 channel music w/o your sub, but mostly they will give you more mid due to adding another woofer.
They are worth the extra coin IMHO."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Thanks. I am leaning towards the M60. I live in an apartment where I can't really turn the volume up right now, but I figure that when i do move they'll fit into a larger space a little better.
Any other comments? Anyone used both? -
The 70's are awesome for HT, but it you're not going that way, definitely the 60's over the 50's.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2
