I am addicted, and now always looking for the next fix. Currently, that has taken the form of MFSL. This stuff is the most addicting blend of the black stuff I have ever experienced. Yesterday, I went to Amoeba records in Hollywood and got a few things from MoFi, and I have been glued to my chair all day. If you every go vinyl, stay away from this stuff because it is sweet poison that will leave you looking for even more.

Rookie.
MOFI is GREAT, but there is so so much more you need to be looking for also.
CheersCheck your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -

John,
Have you ever seen those pictures of listening rooms with 10,000 albums lining the walls? I'm pretty sure your headed there.
Life's supposed to be enjoyed. I'm glad your enjoying yours with assistance from those vinyl platters.
I haven't heard a MOFI album yet so I'm safe from what you and others have contracted for now.. .
But, I have bought 150 used albums since I hooked my TT back up a year or so ago. Then there were cartridges and a record clamp and Cleaning fluid too. Kind of like the sneeze before the cold ...:biggrin:Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

Ahhh, go ahead, jump in,:biggrin:Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I started on the MoFi's when they first came out in (79??). When I got my first nice TT, the nice salesman saw me coming. A wet behind the ears kid in high school with a Thorens/SME looking for a cart. He sold me a Grace F9E and said "You know, you really need some nice Lp's to hear what your TT is capable of...at $17 each, I got the 1st pressing 'Abbey Road', 'DSOTM', 'COTC' and 'Fly Like an Eagle', spoiled me rotten
If you're really into MFSL's hunt down clean copies of the originals with the yellow band at the top, there's a huge diff in the SQ, be prepared to pay thru the nose . 'I Robot' is one of the better 2nd gens, and well worth getting.Thorens TD125MKII, SME3009,Shure V15/ Teac V-8000S, Denon DN-790R cass, Teac 3340 RtR decks, Onix CD2...Sumo Electra Plus pre>SAE A1001 amp>Martin Logan Summit's -
I feel your pain, I never did abandon my vinyl I still have most of my vinyl that I have had since I started collecting in the 70's sure some have been abandoned and replaced by CD's but only the ones that were toted around from party to party and needed to be replaced I was pretty anal and most of the time my albums went right away on a XlIIs cassette as to keep my vinyl as mint as possible, glad I did as I have a lot of Lp's in mint condition. I only wish I would not of sold my Lp collection that accumulated while living 14 years in Germany the LP's there were of better quality, I did ship some back to the U.S. but a few hundred would of cost quite a bit, however I still do have a good size collection. I dont beleive there is a cure for your vinylaholism, but at least its a good habit to have.Home Theater
