If you guys are looking to spoil yourself this is it. Waiting for my Micro pro 1000 to come back from the shop but im pretty sure i know which ones going up for sale on audiogon. Is it fair to compare these two subs, Id say yes as the polk costs more and has more surface area of cone. Also they are from competitive brands. What I will say is this i feel the SVS blends better than any sub woofer i have heard. In the last two years i have gone through HSU, Mirage, Klipsch, Polk, and Energy subwoofers. So i have had time to compare. It blends the best with my LSI 9's and doesn't have a distinct bottom end like the others. Oh yeah and hits a solid 20 hz in my living room. Just posted incase you guys are looking where to go next with your system.

Well i picked up one for 580 shipped from a guy on audiogon. People always get funny about home audio sub woofers like wow thats so expensive but when you buy a car set up it tends to be way more expensive to assemble between the sub the amp the wire and box.

What model HSU did you have?

It was one of the current VTF-1 models. I found that it had such a distinct bottom end that i didnt care for it. I dont think ill ever buy a ported subwoofer again. I will say it filled the room better for that hit you in the chest feeling, but thats not a concern for me.
