Up for sale is another short lived demo model Cary Cinema 11a and Carey Model 7.125 multichannel amplifier. These were used for a short while as a demo unit with various levels of Kimber Kable. This is a very nice pre, but very minimalistic. I've included a write that reviews both the pre and the amp. Though not pictured, each item will come with full accessories, packaging and boxes as though new. Both are in like new condition.

ALSO: This unit has the full $600 upgrade that was added on recently:

We are very pleased to announce an upgrade to the Cinema 11a to incorporate the latest in technological innovation.

The Cinema 11a surround preamp-processor has won industry awards and received numerous rave reviews over the past two years. It has the latest features available and with the current addition of the new HDMI 1.4 standard, it is on the cutting edge in the latest technology. Cary is pleased to announce the availability of an upgrade to allow dealers and consumers to refit their Cinema 11a to take advantage of this new technology.

Cary will remove the current HDMI 1.3 connection board, along with its digital electronics, and replace it with a new board incorporating two HDMI 1.4 inputs and a pass-through output. HDMI 1.4 inputs allow the Cinema 11a to:

    * Support most common 3D formats and coming 4K display resolutions through much higher data transmission speed.
    * Support 48-bit Deep Color at 1080p.
    * Support an Audio Return Channel (ARC) from the TV, enabling multiple sources connected via HDMI to the TV to send their fully digital audio bitstreams back to the Cinema 11a for processing.
    * Support HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC) connectivity, allowing multiple networked devices to communicate via a 100Mbps Ethernet signal carried over their HDMI cables.
    * Support HDMI CEC power on/off features:
o Connected TV and Blu-ray player will power off when Cinema 11a is turned off.
o When Cinema 11a in on, connected TV will power on when connected Blu-ray player is turned on.

It is very important to be able to take advantage of the latest technologies without having to reinvest in new gear every time something newer and better comes along. Cary offers its products? owners a chance to upgrade their equipment to meet the latest high-speed HDMI 1.4 specs, and makes their investment much more secure.

    Price: $595 plus shipping.

    nooshinjohn,

They are coming from a shop that is getting ready for a major remodel and the shop simply wants to reorganize. I would keep a lot of things for myself if I could afford them!

Why do you consider the 11a minimalistic? It is supposed to be a superb pre/pro for HT with audiophile level audio.

I have had my eyes on it for a while, but at $3300 it has been at the bottom of my upgrade list. I have been spending most of my energy on the two-channel system, and not as much on the HT. However, it is time to start tweaking the HT to the next level of audio.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

$3000 + ship/Ins. Local pickup very possible, located in NJ.
Please also recognize this also has the $600 HDMI upgrade on it also, which most out there don't.

I consider it so as it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles of a number of the more standard pre/pros that are out there... but I do respect what it can do, and is a great stand-in to do two channel also!

    hello,
I am interested in the pre-amp only:
what would be the price for it only now ?
I live in Paris-France: are you willing to ship ? and what would be the cost ?
can you confirm it can work on 220 volts without an extra voltage transformer?
    thanks
