So I went old school and grabbed the MFSL box set off the 'bay. Got a great price on the set. The prior owner said it was never played. We shall see.:cool:

    I personally find it hard to believe that the new vinyl remasters will sound better than the MFSL vinyl. ZBut, obviously I have not heard the new remasters on vinyl. The MFSL ones are phenominal though!! So, I think you got a good score.

    Beatles broke up years ago. There will be no new records, unless they find some old tapes.

    you can get that capability for a fraction of what you paid for the box set - i'm just sayin.

    Yep, it's my partner's, he bought it at the Navy store while he was stationed in the UK in the early 80's, it's actually a PL-1000A, whatever the diff the A makes I'm not sure :confused:. Expensive bugger to keep running, lot's of VHTF sensors for the arm that fail. But, it's his 'baby', sounds real nice with the Grado Gold on it now :smile:

    is it possible to produce SACD quality rips? If not, I would prefer to spin the vinyl

    I have some of the remastered CD's and they frankly suck compared to what I have experienced from the MFSL's that I have. That's why I bit the bullet, as it were, and just got the box.

    (no affiliation) - I've used this software for about 6 or 7 yrs now and couldnt be happier. best $59 investment i've ever made - bar none - .

    The trial version is fully functioning 30 days.

    if you want better than 16-bit 44khz quality you have to updrade to a 24-bit 96hz usb or sound card. I hear that the DAC quality is critical too.

    I use an old soundblaster USB MP3+ 16bit 44hz device for my input.

    p.s. the click and pop and rumble and hiss and all those features of Audio Cleaning Lab are excellent...

    I would encourage anyone using audacity or any other PC based system to download and try this software (made in Germany)

    how do I run my Yammy PX-3 into my computer, and do I need to run it through my Sunfire Pre/Pro. I think I can get to talk to my computer and it has a phono stage.

    I have never heard the Beatles sound THIS good! I wish I had not waited so long to get this set. It's like I am hearing them for the very first time. Closing my eyes and listening, It's as if I was invited into the studio to witness the recording myself. WOW... just wow.
