NFL great Bubba Smith passed away today in Los Angeles at the age of 66. I remember him from his football days, but also watching him learn how to drive that Honda Civic in the first Police Academy movie.

He will be missed. RIP Bubba Smith.

Thats the first thing I thought of after hearing of his passing was when he tore the front seat out of that civic and sat in the back R.I.P. Bubba. I will have to search Net flix and queue that first one up.

Oh man this sucks! I liked that dude. Thought he was a great player but also a great actor in a comedy. Loved him as Hightower and he had an appearance on Married with Children a time or two and did great there as well.

I was a Baltimore Colts fan as a kid growing up in MD and will always remember he played in the 1971 Superbowl against the Cowboys.

    Great player, great guy.

We were lucky to have him for a couple of years as part of the Houston Oilers organization. He grew up right over here in Beaumont Tx. but touched hearts all over the world. RIP Bubba!

I also remember him from the Miller Lite "Less Filling/Taste Great" TV commercials.
