Anyone have or have heard the tivoli model 2 . Looking for a background system, for going to sleep. Not criticle listing! Something I can play my EVO through. Want more than an ipod dock but don't want to run my main sys. All night and waste my tubes while I sleep. This unit looks perfact for what I want and have an oppertunity to pick one up used. Are they worth the 200. Or so they go for. And how do they sound?

They sound really good for what they are. A small table top radio.

They go for about 300 new so you have to decide if the price is good.

You can also get a second speaker, a sub and a CD player to match.

I have an older version of tivoli model 1 (~8 years old) in the kitchen and gave a listen to the model 2 at the time. It is great for background music. The model 1 does an incredible job with spoken voices. I rarely use it for music anymore since my main system is in the room next to the kitchen in my current house.

In general, I really like the Henry Kloss designed radios. I have an old Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 that I need to fix up.

I am not sure about the worth $200 since I have not compared it to what else is out there, but it does seem like a good fit for what you want.

Compared to what is out there it is a steal. Other radios of the type are plastic crap in comparison.

Thanks for the input. They have a certin cool factor as opposed to a bose radio ( ewe) just don't what something distracting . Just a nice soft sound to dose off to . Stream some fourplay and snooze.
