Ok heres the deal, I didn't really steal them. matter of fact i bought them new in the box tonight at CC...

everyone is getting them for 78 -85 each or some such..
So scorned posts a thread that he picked up a set for$$78 bucks each, they retailed for like 379.00 at CC months ago.. so i don't really need them but for that price i might return my csi30 to crutchfield i say and bag these.. I always wanted to try di/bi poles anyway. Well i call macon GA. yeah they have them for that price but my local CC won't price match out of state. local region only.. Makes sense

so i call 3 local erea CC stores.. one has them for $86.00 each and was selling the last set as we were on the phone, I call another store, they have one set left and they are $180.00 each, huh!!! the website says $134.99 each.. ok im confused

they say, go pay for them at xyz CC and pick them up here.. Ok fine, I say screw that they are on opposite ends of town by about 45 minutes or more, I go staright to where they have the 1 set left new.. anyways we get this girl who is kinda clueless and calls the manager and this and that.. ok we will do it 86 each. FINE with me.. thats 200 off from retail , so she gets confused because the speakers in the computer say quanity =1.. does this mean 1 speaker or one set. I said their sold in pairs.. anyway.. I also bring up the price match + 10% off, she says with a frown yeah we can also do the 10% match guarantee.. so she says $77.25 me being honest and thrown for a loop says " No that isnt right"

after the stock guys confirms yeah its quanity 1, for xx.xx price, she says yeah ok then its $77.25 please.. Ok heres my card.

they get em down, check out at the loading dock, DONE deal!! hey i gave them a chance to fix it, im outta here... as i run to the Xterra with my box,

so grand total for 1 set new FXi30's $77.25 see the attached register receipt.. I thought this one warranted proof :D

One grill on one of them is missing. i looked the box over and no cut tape and re-taped action, what do i do? will polk send me a new one being it looks like it left polk this way? or CC need to flip the bill?? I am not taking them back. No one in town has them in stock anymore .. oh well they still look great and i am yet to hook them up tonight...

    What a DEAL!

Had a similar incident at CC some years ago. Went in to buy Polk R1's on sale for $39 each (small shelf speaker).

Had the sales clerk ring up the purchase, 1 pair, $80. The weird thing though, the print R1 speaker on the reciept twice (each line quantity=1).

Got up front, here comes my box (1 pair) of R1's...I sign the peice of paper, pick up the box and turn to leave. Lady at the pickup counter says 'wait, you've got another one coming'. I simply say 'oh, ok thanks'. Sure enough, got 2 pair for the price of 1.

I feel a little bad about the next part - 2 days later, I took one pair BACK to the store - got the FULL amount refunded. Net cost - ZERO.

Back to your story though, once again a GREAT deal only caveat - if you ever try to un-**** em here - we know what you paid!

    Cheers,
    Russ

so any idea's on the missing grill? Its not in the box which was sealed tight as a drum

LOL same type of thing happened at CC for me too. I was helping my friend get a set up of her own and she was charged for only 1 speaker per for at least the rear pair. I just don't remember if it was just her rear speakers or both fronts and rears as they where both bookshelfs. Although at the time I thought they sold bookshelfs in pairs and priced them that way. It wasn't until about a year later I realized the deal she got!

LOL ! Good job! How do they make any money at CC doing this kind of stuff. At least you tried to tell them, but if they insist. You will have the bragging rights for all eternity I believe. I'm sure Polk will send you a replacement grill, maybe for a minimal cost, if it is the fault of the factory.
    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround

The last time I was at cc I struck up a tech conversation with the salesmen. In that conversation we were talking about what we had for equipment and I asked him if cc treated them good with discounts he said they get them at cost but have to pay with cash no credit. I asked him how much he would have paid for the rm7200 set I got he said you wouldn't want to know and that the $1000 set of infenitys he bought cost $325 with his discount. I wounder how many salesmen can use an extra $100 cash LOL.

I got my brand new in unopened box pair of RT1000i for absolutely free about a year and a half ago. When I bought them, I also bought my folks an Onkyo HTIB "open box" since my Dad's birthday is close to Mother's day as a joint present to the both of them. Well, my folks didn't want it. It was just too complicated for them, and they didn't really care for it, so I took it back to the store for a refund. The girl at the return counter also credited me back the RT1000i that were on the same ticket! I guess the "open box" return confused her, and she thought that the 1000s were a part of it. The thing is, I didn't even realize it until after I got back home and looked at the return ticket. Then I went through a moral dilema about it for a while, but finally, I decided "What the hell?". It's not like CC hadn't screwed enough people themselves.

    Circuit City, my oh my

    Killer deal Faster!

I went to Circuit City to do some listening to the RTi70 before I purchased them. Well I go in there; I turn on the RTi70 (checking the price first). I talk to the Salesman a bit...

::The day before, I had been on the website and I thought they had taken the RTi70 off of the website and was only available in-store.::

So I ask him why the RTi70 was 800 dollars when they only sell for 600 elsewhere. He said that is the price; that was the best he could do. I said please go look into it, so he came back and said the BEST he could do was 340 EACH!!! I was like *HOLY SHEAT*!!! I just wanted to go back to the manager and kick his ****$. He was ROBBING PEOPLE! They didn't even sell for 800 new!! So I listen, leave. We arrived back home...so I went online and checked this out again. Of course! I find them this time and they're on the website for 600 a pair!!! I just wanted to go back there and do a price match on Circuit City on their OWN WEBSITE!

That is a shear sign of pure stupidity! Whoever was the manager needed a boot in his ****$. I was laughing the whole time though...
