How should I sell of my LS90s?

Hey all, I'm looking to sell off my LS90s and need suggestions. I don't know about craigslist in your area but nothing in Salem is moving, I might get $100 for them if I'm lucky. I can't ship them as that would be to much of a hassle. Lastly I could break them up and sell the drivers here, but I would feel absolutely horrible breaking up a perfectly good pair of speaker. Plus side would be that the driver would go to good polk homes and I'd get more money over all.
What would you do in this situation. I just hate seeing good vintage speakers that have made it all these years being torn apart, like a family. It's sad.

well you can't sell anything here until you get 100 posts.
Put them on craigslist, ebay, and audiogon for local pickup only, and don't be in a rush.
I'd imagine you'll have the most luck on ebay, but you never know. And just because "nothing in Salem is moving" doesn't mean you can't sell your speakers. All you need is the ONE right buyer, not for the whole of craiglist's economic landscape to be doing well.
The biggest asset you can have as a seller, or buyer, is time.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

One guy locally sells lots of parted out speakers on ebay , turns out folks need the drivers more than the cabinets (plus saves them shipping) , they usually have cabinets just need drivers , so he lists all the drivers tweeters on one add mid/bass on the other X/over on the last and in the adds he states "I have the cabinets if you want to pay shipping"
I would find out if the drivers are used in a lot of differant speakers and list the other models in your add .. -
Yeah, I noticed my thread count was kinda low. Hmm well I guess I'll give craigslist a go and be patient. Seriously though, I couldn't sell my mint Klipsch RW12d with packaging for $150, so I kept it. It's rough out there.

Why the heck would you sell them to begin with? If you need the cash, believe me, I understand - but if it's just a space issue, clutter, etc - let your mom listen to them, a neighbor you know well, a fellow forum member, etc for a while.
Cheers. Stick around and post some more.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Well here is the deal, I'm a bit of a DIY guy. My wife has requested a 3.1 system and I have always been a 2.1 guy. I would be more than happy to keep the LS90s as they do sound good. I would like a center to be voice matched. If you could pick any center to go with the LS90 which one? The DIY bug has bit me and I was thinking of doing Paul C's "Swope HT". Paul is pretty well known in the DIY community.
For the sub stage I have an Acoustic Elegance AV15h paired with 2 18" passives tuned to 16.5 hz. I upgraded the crossovers in the ls90s.
What to do, what to do?

cs350ls
you can usually find them for close to a hundred bucks.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Yep I would get the matching center for the LS90 and be done with it. You may have to be patient, but you will find one

The past year or so,I've seen prices on a pair of LS90's go from $250 on up to $650(???) and averaging out around $400. I use mine as surround speakers and run a CS400 as a center. CS350LS center looks sweet too.

What do you use as mains?

+1 on the CS-400

This post looks like the other post but I see 2 items for sale....
I ain't sellin nothin -
I use the SDA/SRS2's as mains.

The LS90's are one of the best speakers Polk ever produced for music. If they are not everything you think they should be consider upgrading electronics. I'd probably go with the center channel. Of course you may just want something different but plan on spending a lot to match them.Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
So what would be a better match, cs-400 or cs350ls?

Honestly Dan, I've heard that asked a number of times here, I think it usually ends up a tie, lol, they both are awesome centers.

True. Buy whichever one you find first. Then buy the other. Then sell the one you like the least. Done.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Awesome, I guess I'll just pick up what will show up first. Last question, what surrounds? Bookshelves preferred. Thanks for convincing me to keep them.

There was a CS400I in our for sale forum for a GREAT price. If it's not sold, think about it hard and fast. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
