Parasound HCA-1200 II Amps

I'm looking at a possible upgrade and wanted to find out whether there is any interest in my Parasound HCA-1200ii power amps. This would be a great way for someone to get into separates and jump straight into the 200wpc level with a quality amp.
I have three of them powering the home theater now. Here are the specs:
205 watts RMS x 2, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 8 Ω
315 watts RMS x 2, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 4 Ω
Continuous Power Output - Bridged Mono:
625 watts RMS, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 8 Ω
I am the second owner. The amps are in good condition. I'll rate them a 7.5/10 due to age and a couple of small nics. The amps have had plenty of ventilation. I have had a single small capacitor professionally replaced on one of the amps (which one I could not tell you). Other than that, no issues.
Weight = 42lbs packed and cost to ship will likely be around $50-$60 (Audiogon estimate) each depending on how far away you are. I'll start this off as a local pickup only with the possibility of shipping if I don't get local takers.
Polkie price $375 OBO each.

No love for the Parasounds? Priced too high? Motivated at the moment to move these so throw out a reasonable offer.____________________________________________________________

Oh I love em, but I have no cash and wouldnt want to insult you with a low ball offer "....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Dp, I have Adcom and Emotiva amps at the moment. How would these Parasounds sound on my Lsi 15's compared to my current amps? What equipment are you running with these Parasounds?LIVING ROOM:

I am running the SRT's with them. They do very well and sound great. I am only selling because I have an opportunity to move up a level. They are not as bright as the Adcom I ran previously which is a good thing on RT series Polks.
I owned an Adcom GFA-7500 and it was a great amp but a bit to bright for my taste. Parasounds are in an entirely different category than Emotiva (no offense intended nor is this a ticket for this thread to become an Emotiva bashing thread.)
Which Adcom are you running now?
One thing to consder with these amps is they have a LOT of headroom; especially if you run them in half stereo mode (not bridged mono) which is where you only use one channel of each amp. They'll put out a very clean 450WPC @ 4Ohms which those LSi's love.____________________________________________________________

I have often wondered what a pair of these would do for the lsi9's .... I have a single right now & the results are .... well it sounds pretty good hhhmmmmmm but the lsiM's are coming out soon ........ hhhmmmmm...... did ya really have to put these up for sale ...
These are solid amps guys & gals ....for not alot of money .....John Curl designed .. -
If I had the extra $$$ I would pick one up just to have it. I had one and sold it and there are time I would like it back, but I have Parasound coming out my ears right now and my wife finally got me widdled down to only the ones I am using and she probably won't let up on her grip anytime soon
Good deal for a great amp for any Polk IMHO.... Good luck!

Currently running the Emotiva Xpa5 for home theater with the lsi15's, lsic, and some mirage surrounds. ( Working on getting some lsifx's) The Emo seems really bright even compared to the adcoms. I have the adcoms, 5500 & 545, running a garage rig with some rt55's, rt800's & some polk monitor 10 jr.'s . I feel like a couple of Parasound separetes like yours, or a Parasound 2205 may suit me better, but I'd like your input....LIVING ROOM:

These are great amps - they'll definitely help tame the highs on RTi / RTi A series speakers and add some nice low end to towers. Someone should pick these up!!ALL BOXED UP for a while until I save up for a new place

I'm having second thoughts.......Especially after revisiting the manual and recalling that I'm getting 450Wpc @ 4Ohms out of them in half stereo mode. These will stick around at least through the time I have the LSiM707's at the house to demo.
From the manual:
Dual "Half-Stereo" Operation
For a sonically superior high power alternative to mono bridging, you can enjoy the best possible sound by using a pair of HCA-1200IIs, and operating each unit on one channel rather than bridged mono. You will gain substantial reserve power, since only one channel is now drawing upon the enormous power supply. While you will not obtain the full 625 watts at 8 Ohms available in mono bridging, you can obtain approximately 250 watts at 8 Ohms, or 450 watts at 4 Ohms. The audio signal is not required to travel through the additional phase inverter circuits required for mono bridging, and the resulting clarity will more than compensate for the slightly lower available power.
Unlike mono bridged operation, with Dual Half-Stereo operation, you also have the option of using speaker loads of 4 Ohms or less. For Dual Half-Stereo, simply connect only one channel's input and output of each HCA-1200II. Leave the Mono Bridge switch in its Stereo (down) position. Leave the other channel of both amplifiers disconnected. It doesn't matter which stereo channel you use on each amplifier.____________________________________________________________

This "Half-Stereo" mode is new for me and it sounds very interesting. After our conversation on the phone today, I have total confidence you'll have a stellar front and back end ready for these loudspeakers. I'll keep you posted on the pickup date and send that privately so no rogue Polkies drop by and grab them before you do :eek:CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
