I need something that is better sounding and more comfortable than these earbugs that came with my iTouch and I don't want to spend a lot. What's good for under $50? Or am I being too cheap?

Skull Candy stuff seems decent to me. They have some in that price range.

Haven't tried personally but heard a lot of good things about these:
MEElectronics A151-BK In-Ear Headphone with Balanced Armature Drivers
They are on sale at newegg for $45 with free 2day shipping:

Staples carries the gunmetal ones, and Best Buy has gunmetal and chrome ones. Maybe others but cant remember. They have a nice heavy braded cable and big 11mm drivers.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

Wait for the Polk's to come out.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I guess I am third with the Skullcandy recommendation. I have the Titan's and they are very nice for the price.
I want to see how the Polk's are when they come out. -
I have the Klipsch ProMedia headphones and really like them. They have the same driver as the Image S4. They do have a in-line mic (probably not much use for your iTouch unless you use it for Skype or the like) and a pause/play button.
You can often find on sale between $40-$50. They are $40 at Fry's right now but it says they are on backorder (they are $55 with free shipping a few other places).

Sennheiser CX 200's here for $17 shipped if you use the promo code listed. They're not bad for in ear headphones. Code expires today.

I have a pair of Sennheiser PX100's that I love, but I caught mine on sale at Bestbuy a while ago for $30. They usually run around $50.

I really like the collapsable Sennheisers. The have great sound for their size and are the most comfortable headphones I have ever had. (I would often forget I had them on at work and try to get up from my desk with them still on.) You do have to be careful with them; the joints tend to be a little fragile. -
JVC MarshMallow
Second...they're also available at Walmart in a multitude of colors.
If you want headphones for the home for under $50.00, JVC's HA-RX700 is the best-sounding headphones short of Grado's SR-60 or Sony's legendary MDR-V6. -
the JVC's are the probably your best best if you're ok with big over the ear phones... avoid Skullcandy...(if you really want some bass go for the Sony XB series), you can do better than skullcandy for the same price. my wife does like her JVC marshmallows. If you're really looking for a decent pair of cheap headphones I'd head over to Head-fi. they probably have the best info for that type of stuff.
sennheiser HD 428 would work well if you want a closed phone.. open you could look at Koss Portapros or if you want to spend a little more money Grado SR 60iMain 2ch -
BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+

I can also vouch for the HARX700. I picked up a pair for my father in law about a year back. I had to test them first, of course  , and I think they sound great for the price. I'm just not that into big headphones and prefer portable ones. -
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD238 on ear open phones which are very comfortable and sound great. Buy.com has them for under $50...

I am actually ordering the JVC right now, but Amazon.com is selling them directly for 33.54.... a little better deal. The only caveat is that they look to be about 2 weeks out on shipping...

For the record, both of the JVCs mentioned are "approved" by the head-fi.org membership. These are people with tube headphone amps and $350.00 headphones (if not more).
I also have both JVCs, the Sony MDR-V6, the Grado SR60, and the Sennheiser PX100 and PX200 (the closed version of the PX100). -
Guess I should have been more clear, sorry guys.
I want BIG headphones, old 70's/80's style, the type that cover you're entire ear. I hate this "stick it in your earhole" plug type.If...

Then I'd recommend the JVC HA-RX700. -
DONE! Thanks guys.
I ordered these up, but I found them for $5 more with only a 2 day wait instead of 2-4 weeks from the link below.dcmartinpc wrote: »I am actually ordering the JVC right now, but Amazon.com is selling them directly for 33.54.... a little better deal. Didn't realize you were looking for some big cans....

My problem is I'm a lot better picking out $500+ headphones
than $50. And my wife is going to kill me."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
I am fairly impressed with these, for the price. They produce some decent base, maybe a bit boomy (but this is off my iTouch with no tweaking the eq). Highs are really nice an crisp with some decent mids. They are very comfortable and seem well built.
Great find! Thanks guysIf...
