This has me interested. Panasonic is releasing a new 3D pj. Specs
Contrast rating is 300,000:1, up from 100,000:1 on the AE4000.
2000 lumens on the AE7000
a brand new case, and some other features brought over from the 4000U
Street price is around $3200-3400, but what has my attention is the brightness. I could use all of that on my 126" 16:9 screen. Putting my JVC purchase on hold.

Saw the announcement over at AVS. Very nice specs for the price. Will be interesting to see how it performs in the real world. Sony's new projector is about to hit the streets as well.
I'm still leaning towards the Sharp 17000. The ability to turn off the glasses during a movie and still be able to view in 2D is very appealing. -
If the panny can muster up the lumens for a 3d movie I think it would be awesome .I dont know how a pj would be with active glasses but I'm still on the fence and preferred the passive glasses on 3D tv .I may just have to build my own 3D pj but still this is great news from panasonic as they build quality pj's

Looking forward to these, and it will be interesting to see what JVC brings to the table. Last yrs model seemed to have premature lamp dimming across the board.
As for 3D, I really don't want it. It does seems like it's here to stay though. We shall see how this plays out. I've put my purchase on hold.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

What model JVC where you leaning towards. I was looking at the RS40. I was waiting to see what panny was releasing. Hope Epson comes out with something because those were the three brands I was looking at. I really dont want to go 3d but I dont want to invest in a projector that is not 3d at this point.

Given Panasonic's success with the VT series regarding active 3D and how well they did with the AE4000 I'm excited to see how well the 3D works on this thing. It could be a great matchup.Main Setup
Fronts - Energy RC-50's
Center - Energy RC-LCR
Rear - Energy RC-R's
Subs - Gone...
AVR - Pioneer SC-37
Blu-Ray - Sony BDP-S360
TV - Vizio E550I-B2
Media Server - Mac Mini -
Folks over at Projector people have seen it in person. They say a "substantial step forward in 2D".

I wasn't too hot on 3D, but it does seem to be here to stay and given it isn't much more money than a comparable 2D projector, I figured what the hell. -
I love the JVC HD250 that I picked up. Its 2D but for the price IMO it was hard to beat. I'm sure the Panny would be nice and would be awesome to see how they stack up against each other.

I had mustered up some extra funds and was looking for a JVC RS25. Found a few for sale at a decent price but put all things on hold as of now. Sony has a new projector due out any week now, the Panasonic mentioned here, and hopefully JVC/Epson are on the way. If I'm going to spend $4k, I may as well get the new stuff or at least see how it compares to what I have/want.
I still have a gorgeous image with the JVC RS10, I just want something to toy with. It's like you get your HT/ 2chan. rig perfect then boredom sets in. It sucks..........Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
