Sub may be blown?

i have a dual 12 that i think is blown, it doesnt make a scratching noise when i push it down but when im close to it, it rattles unlike the other sub does, and yesterday the 2 12 subs went down to half power and i believe it is because of blowing one, any help?

Huh? Please be a little more clear, are you talking about car or HT subs? Are you running an external amp? Half power?

Welcome to CP, I'm a bit confused by your post, but if you can give us some more information I'm sure we can help you get to the bottom of the issue!

im running dual brand 2 12" subs in my 1989 buick, ive had them hooked up to my 1200 watt hifonics brutus amp for about 2 months. the amp has a bass boost remote and i usually have it all the way cranked up, the subs are 550 watt peak subs each. yesterday while i was driving the subs went from cranked up full blast to about half power all of a sudden (i dont know how to put it more technically, im an amateur at car audio). so i took a look at the subs and played some songs with bass and put my ear close to each sub, one had a small rattle, the other did not, so i took the one with the rattle inside and did a test, the 9 volt battery test showed it still pumps, and it doesnt make a scratch noise when i push the cone inwards. so i dont know if it is blown, i figured its a sub problem as the amp is newer and stronger than the 2 12" subs, i hope that was more clear
