Need help Sub issues
Currently I have set up a Denon 991, 2 monitor 60?s series 2, CS2 center and a psw 505, I don't currently have any surround speaker wired as I am having them wired through the back wall of my house next week. I did not want to wait so i set up the 3 front speakers and the sub early. I have gone through the Audyssey set up it detects all 3 speakers and the sub i have the sub connected though lFE. The problem i am having is the sub is detected when i got to hear tone it has the the tone but when I?m watching TV or listen to music it doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

chances are your AVR has set the channel level too low for the auto on function to work.
Try just using the on switch and defeat auto on.
Next get or borrow an SPL meter and manually adjust the level on the sub on the AVR to match you mains.
If the auto on is the problem this should fix it.
AVRs do a terrible job adjusting sub levels. When you speaker calibration is running it sees the sub peak levels and adjust the sub channel level down to match the mains which is too low.
If you really want to learn about subwoofer adjustments go to hometheatershack.com and read about REW, Room EQ Wizard. Very helpful people over there on subs.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

The problem I'm having doesn't have to do with setup of the sub, it works great with blu rays and tv but when I play music from the radio or from my itouch plugged in via the usb the sub just doesn't work and doesn't have an SW icon on the front of the receiver.. I have tried all the different sound settings and no change. Anything else you can think of?
