Question about center channel being too high

I have a 61" Sony, and an entertainment center built around it. My center channel sits on a shelf above the TV...about 6". Since the TV is so big, the dialogue seems like it is coming from the top of the TV...which it is. Can I angle the center channel downward to compensate? H/T Receivers ask you in setup where your speakers are located and how far from you....I wish it would ask how far above or below the center channel is from the center of the screen.

Absolutely, aiming the center at your listening position will help. Just make sure it is very stable, obviously.Graham

I agree, just angle it, it is about all you can do. You will be just fine with doing that, should have great results.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

$3.50 for a couple of rubber door stops will be the best $3.50 tweek you could ever make! It worked wonders on my center speaker.
