Exactpower EP15 regenerator

This was sold, and damaged by Fedex. I received a partial claim back, and would let this go for $200 shipped. It has a scuff on the front corner, and the power on makes a click as it should....but no power. No LCD power up either.

Changed fuses, no go. There is a small LED that flashes and it is located next to a "12V" stamp on the board. It tries to power up it seems but fails.

Update;

I did some careful inspection and this unit is in fine shape with the exception of the main relay, a $5 part.

Off to Middle Atlantic / Exact Power. They scoped it, replaced the relay, and found 4 suspect caps. About $20 in parts and 2 hours of labor.

This is a component I have been watching for years and it will be sitting on my rack next week for a total landed rebuilt cost of about $380. :biggrin:

I am curious as to how this unit compares to something like the H15. I cant find much info on this product.

I meant to get back to you and let you know I am very happy someone was able to repair this. How Fedex screwed it up in the first place is beyond me, but I did get some compensation back from them so seems like a win win for everyone!

Yeah, I hope Fedex took care of you.

The external damage was just a fraction-of-an-inch blemish to the lower front right corner. That aluminum case is soft enough that very little pressure will mar it, but that also makes it extremely easy to fix.

I touched up the corner with a very fine metal file and it's now smooth as a baby's butt and imperceptible if you aren't looking for it. As far as the internals, this thing is now NEW. Middle Atlantic, besides providing great equipment racks has a top-notch technical department too.

I guess I need to think about a selling price for my trusty APC H10 (Black). If you've read my review thread, you already know how happy I am that I took the gamble on the EP15 . . .

How is the EP15 treating you?

I am thinking about picking another up, especially that I now live overseas in 110 oasis in 220v land.

Wow, I guess I haven't been here for a while and just noticed this 2 month old question.

My father-in-law ended up nearly 450K upside-down on his home in CA so we asked him to move in with us (in Feb) when walking away became his only option.

Long story short, a stud wall down the center of my recently refinished man-cave was quickly built to accommodate Dad and I lost almost 600 sq ft of valuable space. I had to move all of my gear elsewhere and have not listened to hi fidelity audio since .

We have an addition pending and I'll be back in the saddle by next June.
