Thinking of going to an all in one player but concerned about audio quality having always had single CD players. Between the Marantz DVD 7001 and the Denon 2930 which has the better audio quality for CD playback??? Thanks,Keith

I cant help you with the models you have chosen but, what I can say is I have a denon 2910. On sacd it sounds good. On regualr cd's its ok but not great. My jolida cd100 with EI gold pin tubes sounds better then the denon running regular cd's. Actually I can take the same sacd, play it on each of the units and the jolida playing the redbook side of things vs the 2910 playing the same cd but sacd side, the jolida has a better sound every time. The Denon is a good player and I do like the sacd part on it but, again, the jolida still sounds better.

I have been thinking of adding a tube buffer to the denon to see if that will make it more like the jolida.

What are you using right now for your cd player?

I don't think the all in one players will be able to sound as good as your 545 on redbook. That is a darn good redbook player especially for the $.

If your looking for sound close to the nad, I am going to say the marantz. I have not heard the 7001 but, I have heard a few of the marantz dvd units. I personally thought they did a better job with regular cd's and sacd's then my Denon. I thought it was a bit cleaner on the high end and a little deeper in general on the sound.

This winter when I am back inside more, I will be looking to change out my denon with a different sacd player.

I can't say on the dvd side of things on the marantz or the denon as every time I have tested them or heard them it was for 2 channel. Even my denon, I have not hooked it up to a tv.
