Hi , I've finally settled in to my 2-chl set-up and seperate h/t system after
many problems most of which I caused. With some of your guys help all is resolved and all is working great as far as this system. So the question is how much would chaning up the pre/amp make. Now I have an Onkyo p-301
w/all funtions working except no remote which is no big deal because my amp
an Adcomgfa555 has no remote. I am pleased w/ the amp and will not even attemt tubes because a barely know how a refrigerater works and will not get involved w/ that. So I was thinking of pairing up w/ the 500 series Adcom pres. They are all over the place and are affordable unlike the MacIntosh c-28 I would love.About my spkrs, I found a steal on C/L so unless that happened again my Infinitys' SM112s are also staying.

I say keep what you have and save for a bigger upgrade. I don't think you will gain anything with the 500 series adcom pre's but if you can get one on the cheap then give it a shot. I didn't like the one 500 series pre I tried.

I have to agree with TFL on this. The 500 series is OK but not the best in the world. And nothing like the Mac one you mentioned at all. Would it be better than the Onkyo? Tough to say, Onkyo makes pretty ok sounding pre's compared to the Adcom 500 series.

I say save up for a big upgrade.

Since your on a budget LW, save some coin for a worthy upgrade. Makes no sense to do a lateral move to what you have now.

That's alot for the respones. I guess from most of the opinions here and before I really should be happy w/ what I have until the time and is right for a higher end upgrade.

Quite alright, it's share and share alike besides they are way out of my price range.I do appreciate the effort.
