Dearest Polk Friends,

I got some great news today! I am off the unemployed list and obtained a teaching job in a very good school district.

Later that day my insulin pump breaks, I'm sick all day, and spend about 2 hours on the phone with doctors and the insulin pump manufacturer.

Then tonight the hot water heater in the house I'm renting breaks - water everwhere - lots of boxes destroyed.

Karma is a female dog - probably an ugly looking pug.

But I've got a job, so still a good day.

Hope everyone is doing well - I've been away for a while.

    James,

Congrats on the job! Will you have to move, or will you be staying in the same area?

As long as your health is secure, don't worry about the water heater - by tomorrow you'll have your blood sugar under control, hot water, and a paycheck. It's all good.

    Congratulations James,

That has to be a great weight off your shoulders. I had no idea you were diabetic, though...take care there. But as BD says above don't worry; tomorrow is another day--a day where you will be getting paid!

    Great news...the rest will pass.

What did you do for insulin in the meantime? I have never used a pump (I've had diabetes for 27 years) but it seems that being without the basal drip (and bolus for that matter) your bloodsugar would go crazy. I know without my insulin bottles, my bloodsugar would go nuts very quickly. I hope you got the pump problem resolved quickly and your bloodsugar didn't suffer (although by the way you were talking, it sounds like you had problems with your sugar). I would keep a close eye on your sugar level for the next couple days.

I am glad you got a job you will enjoy. Congradulations.

Water heater leaks ALWAYS suck! I used to work for a plumbing comp. and went to many homes with distraught people wanting their lives to get back to normal ASAP.

I'm glad you had the Job notice to combat your Pump breaking and water heater tank failure. Congrats to that.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
