Slow day at the church picnic flea market

Tis the season of flea markets and yard sales. Today I stumbled on two sets of speakers in near mint condition. The first set is a pair of Cerwin Vega VS-120's the were barely used. The second is again a near mint set of Advent U4 speakers in walnut. They just need to be refoamed. The total for both sets. $40.00 The first impressions of these speakers was the Cerwin Vega's would be a good house party speaker that would rock the house. The surprise for me was the Advents were excellent. I never heard them before but I heard good things about them. I am glad I picked up this pair. Does anyone know of the Advent U4 speaker. Is it considered a large Advent speaker. I was amazed at the sound of the 2 way design and size of the speaker. One of the best 2 way speakers I have heard. All in all a pretty good day.

MDaudioguy is looking for a pair of CV speakers for a garage project that I bet he would pay 40 for....then you're out nothing. Send him a PM or he may drop by eventually.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

If the CVs are for sale, I'm in!
Edit: Maybe.... Jessup, PA is a little far... -

Mdaudioguy.
I have always said that Westminster, Md. is the center of the universe. I think if BlueComet puts his car in neutral it will end up in Westminster. He should have no problem bringing them to you.I got static in my head

I got a pair of CV VS 100s and when we entertain I swap those out with the AR 18's and Run the AR 58's and the VS 100's those two combined get any party going just the CV's alone get loud and sound pretty darn good. I bet you will like those VS 120's and if Mdaudioguy buys them for his garage that garage will be rockin.Home Theater

No worries! I've got my eyes on a few, but I probably won't be getting a deal like that! Enjoy!

Btw, what do you plan on powering them with?
-
I hooked them up to a Luxman M117 amp and Luxman TP-114 pre amp. They love the power and rocked the house. I not only got these two sets of speakers but for another $10.00 I picked up a mint Pioneer PD-F100 cd player with remote and a mint Pioneer VSX-453 receiver plus remote. It was a very good day.Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

Sounds like a great day... I need to find a way to stumble upon such a treasure trove! Of course, these things aren't easy to plan - sometimes you just need to be lucky!

It seems it happens when you least expect it. You never know what people are going to give away for what ever reason. Another member got lucky at the good will. Someone else I bet gets lucky at a yard sale. I better play the lottery today.Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

Looks like you got a good deal on those pieces. Always keep a dollar in your pocket and both eyes open. There are a lot of deals out there.>
