An odd solution...

I have been searching for a cheap 2 channel subwoofer - for a while as I just dont need anything that will dig ultra low - 30, 25hz is perfect) but I wanted something small that would take up little floor space and wanted it to be cheap..

I came across another set of BP2006TL towers and this time I decided I would try them running dedicated as just subs in my 2 channel setup...

These are just a little 8" woofer that hit solid to 30hz or so, maybe a little lower in room - they have a fixed crossover and a volume knob...

I plugged them up - one per side... blended the volume (still playing with them) - and so far I really really like them.

Whats even cooler about them is they are tiny, take up maybe .5 sq ft if that.. so yeah - totally awesome...

Wanted to share my odd solution to my stereo subwoofer woes...

Still not sure if this is a final thing... just playing around! :)

Early AR speakers were designed to be used as bass units only as well as a normal full range speakers. So your solution is not so odd really. Good for you that it works.

    Thanks!

Yeah the more I listen the more I like it... it seems to blend really well - and digs low enough to add a bit of thunder to some recordings...

Although I think I may search out something like a Supercube III down the road to run per side

I bought some 4x AR's from CL for $50 awhile back, hooked them up in the main system on some phone books, and man, was there bass coming from those little 19x10 boxes...Roy Allison design I think?

Way cool speaks  I have them in the 'puter room with a Kennie Basic amp, they do like some juice

Congrats Vr, have fun playin' with the bass!
