Not from a Carl Edwards style win, but in his sprint car on a dirt track in PA last night, he's ok and walked back up the hill to wave to the fans!

Man, when it starts to go pear shaped in those sprint cars, it's always bad - they launch!Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

WOO hits Bridgeport Speedway a couple of times a year too. So do the sprint cars. Bridgeport has a nasty hump in turn 3/4 that is usually smoothed out when the track is first prepped but by the end of the qualifiers, it's pretty apparent. They stop for a half hour before the mains to clean it up again. The cars go hopping through turn 4 when they hit it and if you're too high/close to the guy next to you, you're goin' for a ride right over the fence. They have a catch trap out off of that side of the track but the wrecks are usually pretty violent.
The worst one I ever saw was a wreck that started in turn 3 and just snowballed down to the front straight. One guy came around the turn, hit some fluid and slid sideways into one of the stopped wrecks, bounced off, kicked around and the front left wheels caught the dirt and it started doing a somersault, end over end, about 10-15 feet in the air. Everybody started scrambling to get out of the way 'cause the car was higher than the retaining fence. All I could see was the bottom of the car coming at me in slow motion. It took out the starter platform and tore down half the fence. If it hadn't hit the starter platform, it would have probably been in the stands.
That car looked like God just reached down and crushed it up like an empty Natty Light can.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
