Preamp suggestion

Needing a nice preamp around $750 for my SDA-1C's. I'm running a GFA-5802 and Pioneer DV-45A SACD w/ Sansui SC-3100 (tape deck) and may want to add a turntable to it later.. I tried an Adcom GTP-400 and was totally disappointed and then tried a Phase linear Autocorrelator 4000 and it was alot better... Just no stinkin remote... So if anyone has any suggestion it would greatly appreciated....

    i think i like that adcom combo better than my parasound combo, but that mainly has to do with the preamp.

    either the gtp750, anthem pre2l could be agreat match to your amp.

    The GFP-750 is hard to find , and being that i used GTP-400 and hated it im little worried, but then again since i know nothing about preamps (cause i always use AV Recievers) i could being worked up for nothing....

    The gtp-400 isn't even in the same league as the 750. Night and day difference.

    That's a great deal although the remote is missing,which may be difficult to get.

    Well, its certainly not a deal breaker and that's good news Big Dawg. I'd make sure tho' if it's something that's important. For me, remote control is absolutely necessary.

    It's an ok deal. It should typically be NM condition, with remote control and original box at <500 on the average. But that can vary of course, just an observation based on watching these over the years.

    Not on the same planet. The GFP-750 is the Adcom pre to own. DO NOT shy away from it because of a bad experience with the GTP-400

    I have the Adcom GFA 5802 and a GFP 750 preamp. I think that it's a very good preamp for the money. I've never had the chance to compare it against anything but a high end receiver. There was no comparison there.
